Hope this is ok in the general section. Im baffled with all the figures and cannot work out what gearboxes will fit my 205 1.8 diesel. I've been told the diff bearing is knackered so im on the lookout for another box. Symptoms im getting are knocking noises which get progressively louder with speed especially when cornering. Its been like it a while now and seems to have got quite bad, quite rapidly.

Any help would be much appreciated Thumbs up

You sure its not a driveshaft? If it is the box you won't have long till you lose drive.

Pretty sure you can fit most xud boxes though so should be easy enough to find

Just driven home - it sounds like the driveshaft is rattling around and when i turn on full lock, it feels like it wants to stay in full lock.... Dunno

if its the diff bearings, aren't they pretty easy to change, and possible without removing box?

When you get the noise feeling pop it into neutral and see if it changes.

As said dead easy to change, I have the bearings in stock if needed and it saves the chance of bolting on another dead box
