Hope this is ok in the general section. Im baffled with all the figures and cannot work out what gearboxes will fit my 205 1.8 diesel. I've been told the diff bearing is knackered so im on the lookout for another box. Symptoms im getting are knocking noises which get progressively louder with speed especially when cornering. Its been like it a while now and seems to have got quite bad, quite rapidly.Any help would be much appreciated ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

You sure its not a driveshaft? If it is the box you won't have long till you lose drive.Pretty sure you can fit most xud boxes though so should be easy enough to find ________________________________________ Ryan |

Just driven home - it sounds like the driveshaft is rattling around and when i turn on full lock, it feels like it wants to stay in full lock.... ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

if its the diff bearings, aren't they pretty easy to change, and possible without removing box?________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

When you get the noise feeling pop it into neutral and see if it changes.________________________________________ Ryan |

As said dead easy to change, I have the bearings in stock if needed and it saves the chance of bolting on another dead box________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |
