Will sort it when I'm next on a computer That's what your girlfriend has been telling you. In this case it ain't necessarily so - I've got a 24" screen and the pics are so big I can only see the stone chips on the corner of the bumper or a few leaves on the ground when it eventually opens. If you want anyone to look at your thread you need to grip it FFS. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

Since you asked, Heres the formula of HSUstyles car buying pattern. 1-Buy a 106 Thats standard and in nice nick. 2-Put loads of effort into making it minty mint (Very quickly in fairness) 3-Spend xxxx money putting a "better" engine in it 4-Spend further money making it massively impractical. 5-Decide he wants a more "sensible car" 6-Ponders for a while.Talks about how much he wants a VTEC. 7-Buys a 306 GTi6/Rallye. 8-Keeps it for like two weeks sells it because hes bored or because a car he's already owned once and sunk money into and also subsequently decided is impractical is back up for sale. Rinse and Repeat i.e back to stage 1 I reckon we are at stage 2 at the moment ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Rinse and Repeat i.e back to stage 1 I reckon we are at stage 2 at the moment I can't keep swapping cars with my new job..it's car sales and would class as a 'serious conflict of interest'. I'm only allowed two personal cars per year. That's part of the reason I 'played it safe' with another S1. And worst case I 16v it at some point and keep the 1.3 Engine on that side. So far I haven't clicked on for sale sections or browsed eBay or Pistonheads. I've been offered a sunflower Yellow phase 1 172 which I've always wanted but said no. ________________________________________ Beef Beyond Belief |

Don't 16v it, just sell it to someone who actually wants a nice S1 un-****ed-with S1 Rallye and buy back the red one you've already owned twice. Hey presto, 16v S1 Rallye without all the hard work. Which you did. Before. The great thing about reading all these stories (not just you I hasten to add) is I used to kick myself for wasting so much money on swapping/trading in cars in a previous life. A mate and I actually sat with some beers one night a few years ago and added up all the money we'd wasted which was depressing at the time. He would have wasted more if he'd bought the clapped out 15 year old shed of a Maserati he actually considered buying, but didn't. But I digress. Now I realise I was an absolute amateur compared to these stories, so I feel soooo much better about my previous wastefulness. Thanks. Your black S1 does look really nice BTW. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I gave the interior a really good scrub, surprised how much filth was deep in the seats! Seatbelts are red again rather than a dirty red. Engine bay got a little wipe down too. Ignore the wire on the airbox, was a temporary fix to stop the airbox from rattling. Couple of pics with some a moody backdrop. The car is still an absolute joy to drive and really puts a smile on my face, probably more so than my old s1 16v! It gets plenty of attention and compliment from all ages which is nice. ________________________________________ Beef Beyond Belief |
