pretty pointless question here as im not getting my wheels balenced.... (saving for 205gti wheels)

ive had a few spare tyre places tell me they cant balance my wheels as the wheels dont have a hub cap hole. this can be quite annoying when most place offer free balancing with tyre fitting, even the part worn places i go in brum.

do you need a different machine or a special atachment/tool to balance cyclone wheels?

i know it can be done as i have had many cyclone wheels with wheel weights on them.

just wondering why some places cant?

thanks

jim

They have to take the 'rod' type attatchement off the balancing machine and put the 'hub' type attachment on to do it. Most places will tell you they can't do it cause they can't be arsedLOL

As said a lot of places either havnt got the bolt on hub attachment so can't balance them or they can't be arsed. We do it properly Thumbs up

yup, a very common mod done by the rallycross boys running 205 gti's and saxo vtr's.

better to have someone do it on a lathe rather than a holesaw to be fair LOL you'll have a half decent chance of getting a centrecap to fit then as well.

I had the same problem this week getting some new tyres fitted to my 306 race car.

After a fruitless number of phone calls around the tyre shops in Bedford, Kwik-fit came to the rescue.
So thank you guys.
