Anyone know of any new blocks for sale? They are listed on servicebox at over £3k each and you can only buy them with pistons so that is not really a sensible option. Thanks. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

How much would it cost to have a new block machined out of a block of ally? Probably a lot, but might be cheaper than £3k? ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

I can't see you getting hold of a brand new block Pete to be honest. What are you intending to use it for?If you get a very condition used block, and then hot wash it it will be like new really, especially if you plan on boring it for new pistons. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

just use an EW if you want alloy block, or an XU7 with silly expensive 85mm liners and an 88mm crank.OR, 83mm diesel block bored to 85mm and an 88mm crank, that's probably the best way to get a fresh block. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Haha, someone find out! http://www.millingtonengines.co.uk/sales/millington-vauxhall-block-kits.html boosh don't think anyone has done any XU10's in ally, as its pointless when there's the alloy XU, and the EW which is superior, but the Millington's version of an XE is £2750+vat, so £3300. however in pete's application I'm guessing he has to stick to the original engine type at least, so XU/XUD only. Colin satchell's recent 270 ish bhp hillclimb engine is XUD based with XU7 head and a 1998cc capacity. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
