Ideally i would like to know the original dimension of the head, not too sure where to measure from, from sealing face to camshaft journal?? so that i can determine which gasket i will need

approx 4 years ago my china snapped its belt, head was totally overhauled with 16 new valves, tappets and guides plus a skim, i don't know how much material was machined off. It has since blown the head gasket (another Peugeot Ecosse f**k up). i will need to have it skimmed a second time which is ok BUT, i'm having trouble sourcing a thicker head gasket, ECP can get me an MLS 1.5mm gasket although i think this might be too thickIdeally i would like to know the original dimension of the head, not too sure where to measure from, from sealing face to camshaft journal?? so that i can determine which gasket i will need |

You need to measure from the height of gasket face to the joint where the cam covers seal. ![]() ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone ![]() |

thank you stan, is 137mm the correct original measurement? going by the marker (and compared to another never been skimmed head) there appears to be another safe skim left on it |

Pug will sell you one for about £50 iirc, only 1.4, but that covers the max skin anyway.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

cheers mei.I have had a closer inspection of my head and the indentations on either end of it are almost flush with the sealing face, so if i get this machined a second time then i think i'll need a gasket thicker than 1.4mm, i will only be able to work this out once its been skimmed. Who sells MLS gaskets of various thicknesses? |
