Getting really f*cked off now! Fitted my hispecs the other day, went for a drive and one of them leaked. Retightened the nipple and drove it again. Not as bad this time. Today i noticed it had been weeping again after the last drive so i took the new nipple out and replaced it with one of the old ones. Went for a normal drive and perfect. No leaks. Got into my road and thought id see what happens if i slammed the brakes on. Pedal went slightly soft and has again leaked. Any ideas? im fearing the worst that the seat inside the calliper is damaged Sad Its leaking mainly though the bleed hole but i think it may also be weeping around the threads (difficult to tell)

Sorry if this is a suggestion that you think is pointless, but being a plumber will PTFE tape work on threads or Would that not work, just a suggestion

PTFE tape would work with brake fluid but the issue is that the threads dont seal the bleed nipple. The seat in the bottom does so regardless of if i use PTFE tape on it, it will still leak through the bleed hole Sad

It wouldn't work anyway, if its leaking from where it seats it will just leak from the bleed hole anyway.

replace the bleed nipple insert, rallydesign stock ones that fit wilwoods but they look the same, or phone hispec and ask them.

Sounds like the caliper seat, I had this issue a few months back, rather annoying. Sad

It was a rear caliper, ended up replacing the caliper. Yes

Ground the thread off a old bleed nipple, emptied the calliper then got some grinding paste and used the nipple to regrind the seat. I then replaced the nipple and it p**sed out until i did some investigation and found a build issue on hispecs behalf. The bleed nipple they supply only just hits the seat before the nipple runs out of thread so you get any dirt in there that damages the seat or do what ive done and grind the seat, you have no chance of it sealing because you have run out of thread to tighten it up. Luckily, the standard pug gti calliper nipples are identical except the base of the nipple is about 2mm longer so plenty of thread left. Nipped it up and bang. No more leaking Smile Will be going to get 4 new pug nipples tomorrow to make sure none of them are seeping.
