Does anyone know why richs old car ran the original 6 rib setup and his newer kits run an 8 rib setup?
Is it due to belt slippage or something?
Before anyone asks I have pm'd Rich but im an impatient bugger so thought I would ask on here too

Think iirc it's because the Rotrex has one more rib than the bottom pulley, Rich told me that he suspected slip so he made bottom pulleys to take advantage of the extra width.
Hope that helpsDunno

Cool

Ok thanks, I assumed that was the reason behind it, I also assume that it wasn't that much of an issue or rich would have swapped his over to the 8 rib setup??

Rich's C38 setup was running all 8-rib parts, as is mine and Andy's (buzzbrightyear). Yes

It is indeed to help eliminate belt slippage. Smile

Are you sure as if you look at one of his c38 for sale threads he states that the only difference is that his ran the 6 rib not 8???

You can see the differences to the normal kit in the pics below, which is essentially what i'm selling (although the kit I have retains the original 6-rib drive belt; not an 8-rib drive belt):

Do you have a link for this?

I ask as I know he was selling a C38 kit which was 6-rib, however the 8-rib was actually fitted to his vehicle. Yes

Exactly, it was the kit for sale that has a 6-rib system not the actual one that was on Rich's car. Yes

Rich Did tell me that it wouldn't have been a problem running the 6 belt but as we know over engineering is the way forward.
