Hi people for last few months my supercharg 6 has been playing up some times it will just stall on idle or revs will keep going up and down and when driving between 2k and 3k seems to bog then come back to life, I've changed every sensor I can i think off so far. Map sensor, icv, TBS , lamba , coolant sensor, really starting get annoyed hope some one can shed some light on it |

hard to say man you would have to check yourselfdoes it do the dodgy idle when cold?? i had a airleak where my supercharger was welded onto the pipework was total ball ache idle was awful when car was well warmed up... and intermittently at that! my top engine mount had crack and caused excessive movement thus cracking the weld at supercharger outlet used to have a video of it somewhere ________________________________________ TEAM HIGH BOOST SUPERCHARGED RALLYEMy Rallye project thread |

If from cold it will idle fine for about 5minutes then revs will start to move about either going up or try to stall, but it don't always do it, some times when you come to lights it will idle fine, but between to 2k and 3k when around town its starting to splutter , if you put your foot down it clears it, so it could be air leak? |

Ran awful, and was stalling all over ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

It could be an air leak, you could try searching for it with some carb cleaner.I have a similar problem on mine, idle's fine for a few minutes and then starts to stutter a bit. Also hesitates on accleration at certain revs. With an air leak i had always assumed it would stutter from startup rather than after a few minutes? Did you change all the sensors for new ones? Changing the MAP improved the problems i was having somewhat but i also think the lambda needs changing, they seem to have both failed around the same time. ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

Yea I no where it is, but my Mount was changed couple years back, will have look, if you boot it it goes fine, just seems lower down rev range where problems are, really starting to annoy me , some times revs will sit at about 1200 and keep moving up and down, will check all boost pipes and top mount, but I think there fine |

sounds like air leak as all above say, spray carb cleaner on all intake joins/pipes(one place at a time) when idleing if the revs pick up then that's where your leak is________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

Also I've noticed a considerable improvement in the idle of my supercharged 6 lately. It was forever stalling almost as if the idle valve didn't even try to catch it. Lately only engine related things I've done is change the restrictor ring in the charger for one that's 0.8mm larger and welded up the top engine mount. Also fitted a baker bm lower mount. Don't see how mounts would affect the idle unless the engine was all over the place. Most likely an air leak or dodgy ICV. Do you have a lightened fly and crank pulley? ________________________________________ Black power baby!
