I need an urgent DIY and advice on this one please.

I'm going to jave to whip the head off my engine to replace some valves on cylinders 3 and 4.

I have some Kent Bermudes pulleys which are timed to the right spot.

Now, what is the best way of timing the head... I shall pin the crank, but do I go and tipex the pulleys to know where to time hem to? Am I going to get that accurate enough? And am I going to.be able to remove the cams at these timing marks without messing anything else up?

I'd ideally like this to be the worlds quickest rebuild, but want to get it right...

You need to buy or make a tool for locking the cams in place, one notch of the belt is roughly five degrees on the cam so you need to be super accurate, tip ex just doesn't do it.

Having to have the cams out tho. Locking them wont help having to put them.back in in.the right spot will it? Surely its down to where you eye then back into before locking them in place then?

Just trying to get my head round this one to whip the head off maybe tomorrow night, and then delve into the new valves....

If you have a scriber you can scribe a line onto the cam (not on the lobe obviously) and the head if you take the rocker covers off.
