Hi all,
My engine has failed - broken piston + hole in the block.

I need to know - is the gti-6's engine block same as on the others 2 liter XU engines?

Thanks in advance

I know it's not the question but I don't think the pistons are the same due to the higher compression.

The block is the same as the XU10J4R engine, but the pistons are unique to the XU10J4RS (GTi-6) engine.

Some XU10J4R blocks come with the piston oil spray bars, some do not, it depends which vehicle the engine was originally intended for. However, the spray bars are simple to fit if the engine you find doesn't come with them.

Therefore, you're best off looking for a replacement engine of the same type, as Bowen says he can supply an engine to Bulgaria for you. Smile

Thank you all.

Today I've removed engine head - it is damaged too.
The piston has been deep in the head. Even the spark plug hole on the top is smashed.

It seems that I will need whole engine.
@bigbadbowen can you make an offer for engine delivered to Bulgaria Smile in PM if you prefer.
