A few weeks back, the car started to run poorly. Hesitant under anything more 30% throttle, spluttering and missing, and unable to develop usual power.
In my mnd it felt like it was getting too much/not enough air or fuel (and t also seemed to coincde with filling up with Shell Vpower ntro stuff).

So anyway, I got through that fuel, and topped up with something known. I also changed the fuel filter, all to no avail, but when I changed the plugs (which all looked ok and the same as each other) it seemed to fix it.

Delighted, of course, but a few days on, its once again running not quite rght. Only at low rpm now, and whislt drivng normally or even pressing on its fine. ut around town, its hesitant and spluttery once again.

Any thoughts?? Its been on a diagnostics and nothing obvious shows up. A mechancic friend feels (but can't be sure) thats its an injector issue.

Any thoughts welcome..

Coil pack failing ?

Doubt it's an injector ?

Tps or Icv ? May be worth changing them and the coils for known good ones Yes

Certainly worth a go. Odd that it ran fine for a few days though.

I've put up a post in the wanted for a set of coilpacks, thanks

Lambda? Mine would run fine then it would produce no power then it would come back again then sometimes it wouldn't do it at all. Then I discovered the lambda loom had broken wires so because i haven't had time to fix it yet i run without it plugged in and it's absolutely fine just bigger flames LOL

Jut unplug it and see how you get on Thumbs up

The loom runs from the back of the ECU and then clips on to the bulkhead. At that point you will see a square plug with a red top, pull the red top upwards and this will release the lambda.

Let us know how you get on Smile

Just to bump this thread guys i have finally got hold of a xsara VTS lambda loom.

Are they the same? It seems the red and green are the opposite way round on the VTS loom, will this cause problems if i follow red to red green to green?

I believe they are the same Matt, not sure if they changed the loom across VTS phases though...

Well I've connected it red to red green to green etc and it seems to be running fine so I'm guessing its correct. The car is no quicker or slower but the major thing i have noticed is it doesn't smell anywhere near as rich as what it did which will hopefully improve my MPG Smile

Yeah, that's probably a good idea although if the rich smell has gone that's got to be a bonus. Smile

It smelt rather 'fuely' at Pugfest. Yes

So can anybody tell me which wire does what? When the car idles from start up it'll randomly pick the revs up and drop them back down again just the once. So I'm interested in what they do if anybody knows??

Many thanks.

The 4 wires will be power, signal, heater and Earth but in what order I'm unsure.

What colours do you have and I'll take an educated guess...
