Hi

I have a 205 Rallycross car that i have dropped a GTI 6 motor in after my MI16 motor let go in a big way and have had the plan of SC it after reading some of the posts on her as it seams an easy way of big HP and torque.

So i have gone and got a s/h C30-94 SC and the plan was to wait until i have the steel rods ect before fitting it but i can feel me fitting it in low boost as i was so down on power last time out (most cars are 300-400 Bhp) so if i can get it set up to at least 250 low boost it will help at the next 2 races unitl i get the shiny expensive bits and go HB.....

My questions are i am currently running a standard GTI 6 motor with 48mm throttle bodies and lumination engine management that was set up for the 250 bhp MI16 motor.

i am planning on making a manifold chamber to bolt onto the throttle bodies and run though an intercooler and into the supercharger with an air filter fitted or would i be better using the GTI 6 inlet manifold i have and selling the TB??

Also it says in the manual if i set it up with the TB then i may need a Recirc valve ? now it does not say i will but will it harm the SC if i don't as i only do races of max 5 laps ?

Also will i need a intercooler as the races are very short and i dont think i have seen the turbo lads running them will it make a big difference for such sort races?

Any case i will have room as i am fitting a bigger rad in the boot of the car for additional cooling plus protection from front impact damage of stones etc and this should let the engine bay run cooler.

I also hear about restrictor rings /plates what are these for on the low boost kits as i thought it was the pulley size that changed the boost pressure

What is the most boost i can run with a standard bottom end i see people mention .65 bar?????

Any advice would be great help..

Oh and i only have 2 week to the next race......

PM these questions straight to Rich_W who designed the kit.

I'd say that trying to make the SC kit compatible with your existing bodies would be a waste of time. I think you will want an intercooler to keep risk of detonation down but I'd use a sturdy stainless steel mesh in front of it to protect it and the charger runs at the same speed low boost or high, the restrictors control the boost level. Bigger ring=more boost.

Take a look at some pics of the rotrex charger set-ups, pretty sure there is not enough room to run your ITB's and charger, don't think there is room for a standard gti6 inlet eitherNo
The kits run custom inletsThumbs up
