Depends on the quality of your rods, pistons, crank and his thorough you are during the build. But 9k is possible if hour pockets are deep enough. Why do you need all those revs on a turbo lump though?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. 7.5k? That's not far off standard decent gear should be good for 8kAs for valve float, operate the springs. I'd stick with hydraulic lifters though unless you want to go more than 7.5-8k ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Which S16 do you mean?If its the one that is a Gti-6 jsut european then Phase 1's are set to 7500 rpm and Phase 2 onwards are 7250. The car we call the s16 with the 5 speed box is 7.4k iirc ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

What you see on the dashboard and what the engine is actually doing can be very different sometimes. 7500 should be effortlessly achievable providing the engine is assembled to a decent standard. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Hi, wonder if I can pass 8K RPM with standard springs and hydro lifters. I need to go over 8.2 to pass 100-200 km/h without shifting. |

not advisable, power drops off after 6500 so ahifting would be faster, before considering that the hydraulic tappets do not work so well beyond 7800 regularlyise a bigger tyre or longer final drive if you need to, thats a weird thing to need though ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

With my old setup the power drops after 7 200 rpm. I am installing cams with more lift, bigger turbo, ARP studs, Cometic gasket and more boost combined with water-methanol. My ML5 gearbox is with the longest FD from 2.2 HDi. And biggest possible tyres. |
