And its too low!

The front is fine, but I want to raise the back. I like to be able to see the entire tyre and some.

Am a bit amatuer at such things, do I just need to change the springs? The car has done 200,000kms so maybe better to replace the entire shocks? Can you recommend anything?

Cheers all.

these cars use torsion bars as opposed to coil springs. you need to remove torsion bars to adjust the rear ride height. quite an easy job providing they are not seized into the trailing arms

Nice tow bar btw

Ah I see.

Easy for someone whose experience is limited to oil changes and spark plug replacement? Or easy for qualified mechanic Smile

Its hard to see in the photos due to shading, but its definitely too low in the back.

I guess the rear wheel is slightly up in the arch but not too bad, I'd be more worried about that horrible tow bar LOL

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

Tragically low- looks and will handle like s**t Big grin

I would bring the front and the back up personally.

Replace the shocks if they haven't been done already- and the top mounts at the front.

Would you guys guess the front has been lowered by 40mm?

Looking around, it seems the Eibac 30mm Lowering Springs are the most recommended? Then adjust the rear to suit?

I would like the front a little higher but not as high as stock.

Hi,

Adjusting torsion bars is really a specialist job unless you know what you're doing.

I'd recommend finding a garage which deals with suspension a lot, or who specialise in it. Yes

Nice looking motor by the way...Cool

In that instance, could the torsion bars not just have lost their spring making them sag under load?

No the camber looks fine.

According to the previous owner, the towbar was only ever used for a bike rack.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome aboard. Your car will be nice and clean underneath as there is no road salt in NZ. That will make getting the torsion bars out to adjust the rear ride height a bit easier. Great cars these and very expensive in NZ when new. The dealer where I get parts from has a regular customer in NZ as the parts prices there are much more than here in UK even after freight costs are taken into account.
