I was wondering if one of you could give me a list of known issues with the 306 which could/would cause white smoke to be emitted on start up - a few minutes of driving before it clears?

Had a quick search around on the internet which throws up a lot of suggestions but ideally i want some relevant to the Gti6 engine.
Fingers crossed it isn't head gasket. LOL

Sure its smoke and not steam? I know that sounds silly but a lot of people get the two mixed up. Steam on cold idle in this sort of weather is completely normal.

Condensation in the exhaust or early signs of HG failure.

I think i'd have to monitor it as the weather gets warmer to make sure.

I'm also checking the oil usage and coolant usage atm, very minor change in the level in both but i'm putting that down to general usage.

Would a gap towards the Cat end of the exhaust make it more prone to condensation? I think i might have a small leak which may be contributing to this problem.
