Hi folks,

On my way to Brighton today circa 100 miles, at about 45miles into the journey I was cruising on the M25 when suddenly I noticed the car would sound extremely rough if pressed the throttle pedal to half open throttle.

If I feather it lightly it will cruise normally. Half throttle, sees the car bog down, sound rough, has zero power.
When I give it WOT the power returns after a certain RPM, say 3000+

From about 1000 to 3000 on half throttle the car is not happy, in any gear, also forces me to change down a gear more as it sounds like it wants to stall at certain rpms!

Spoke to Matt who thinks it sounds like the throttle position sensor on its last legs?

Anyone else also experienced this?

I pulled into cobham services, pulled the TPS sensor plug off, no change in the idle of the car.

Reconnected it, and drove the rest of the day with none of the symptoms above, car was fine - im confused!

Cheers

Sorry, I revved it when the TPS was unplugged but it sounded normal to me.

When I unplugged the map, the car died so I know that's working.

The ICV is in need of replacement as it does die a fair bit when stopping and coming upto junctions but I cant see it causing any of the power/running issues above

Does it bog or just slow down like you have lifted off the throttle?

Bogs down completely, theres nothing there when I give it half throttle but clears after I pressing pedal to the metal

Strange that it behaved itself for the rest of the day though

I don't know if this is related but when coming off the throttle/going onto the overrun its been jerky for the last couple of months, almost like the engine mount is fooked, but I don't think it is Unsure

Thanks will look into that.

I did buy that Lexia 3 scanner thing the other day which is basically Peugeot planet but as yet, haven't got it to work on windows 7.

Strange that the lambda would cause that, then be ok again ?

I also remember when the lambda died on my meridian. Didn't have nowhere near as drastic effect on the car as this felt earlier

Cheers chaps.

I would've thought it a bit strange to act up like that though Stan then be ok for the rest of the day with the lambda?

Any ideas on my mileage/vss issues in my other thread?

Thanks smeagal, think going to do a dual boot pc with xp/win7 on Friday when I get some time off work then use it.

Plenty of things play up intermittantly before complete failure, especially in the electronic world mate. Yes
