Been into peugeot today to order a new throttle body gasket and 2 new cam cover gaskets. The parts man tried selling me a butterfly thinking it was the TB gasket, then he tells me there is know TB gasket. He refuses to believe i've had it in my hand this morning. He always told me
the cam covers don't have gaskets, after MUCH persuading he believed me
that they have them, but he told me if you want the gaskets you'll have to buy new cam
covers, and you can obu buy the front one. I only went to peugeot
cos my locat factors told me it'd be main dealer only. does anyone know where i can get these gaskets from? Or if they are only available from peugeot does someone have a part number, because without one they can't shape themselves

Im not sure if this is helpful, but recently i've had alot of trouble sealing the cam covers, So a friend of a friend told me that if i can get enough people to order then he would make cork gaskets which would make life much easier for DIY's like me

the parts man is right, you'll just have to use in instant gasket, cant remember which one is recommended.

the gaskets are part of the cam cover therefore you have to order the whole cover.
but unfortunately only the front cover is available which is stupid

im unsure about the tb gasket though.

The cam cover gaskets are part of the covers, if you damage them getting them iff you are stuffed.

if you are carefull with them when taking them off then the can be used many time just with a bit of sealer.

if they are damaged you can still seal them but you will need to put the sealer on at least 2mm thick to make sure they seal, as the cover doesnt screw down flush. its better to find some good undamaged second hand ones.

I have loads if you want any.

as for the TB gasket, yes you can get them but you have to buy 10 in one go unless your dealer is really friendly.

again I have loads.

After reading a few posts on here with regards to
What gasket to use

Loctite 5910 seems to be the one to use,..
I've not tried it yet,.. I may give it a shot in the summer
And maybe do a tutorial on it if it Proves successful

Yes they do still supply them, i bought two a week or so ago, didnt need to buy ten though so its always best to get to know your local dealers well.
