Iv always slowly bedded in my brakes, always get good performance from them. Seems quite a lot of info on that site just about bedding in brakes though.

Wow, that looks like a short and concise read.

Bedding in of brakes is always highly contended, had a chat with a guy from Carbotech once who said it was completely pointless until you got up to fairly silly brakes, and that he finds it hilarious when people ask about how to bed in their £20 Pagid pads and standard discs as all they're actually doing is glazing them over and making them worse a lot of the time.

What about bedding in new pads with old usable disks, this is where bedding in does makes a difference.

Interesting find. Thumbs up It's surprising just how little the average driver knows about fairly important things such as this. similarly the mechanics who typically fit new disks and pads to these cars - have you ever heard a kwik-fit mechanic tell a customer that they should go and set their new brake pads on fire?

The issue there isn't so much the burnishing as it outlined in the video, but more the contour matching of the 2 surfaces which happens fairly quickly. That is unless you've changed to a different pad compound in which case just go through the whole procedure from scratch as appropriate for your new compound.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.
