So sticking with the BE4 GTi180 box would be an easier way? im guessing the ratios will be best suited to the gti180 engine anway? |

The GTi180 is quite a nice engine, ive certainly been impressed with mine since i had it. Seems to gather speed quite quickly without revving the tits out of it, the mid range punch from 3k to 5k is a touch stronger than a 6, but its not quite as rampant at the top end. The 5 speed box is ok, not as closely stacked as the 6 speed, but it doesnt seem to matter. As for power, ive had mine on the rollers and it made 181bhp at 7010rpm (127K miles, janspeed cat back and panel filter) and it reved to 7600 rpm before the limiter cut in. Much quieter when running as well, and it doesnt suffer from hot oil temps when on track like the 6's do. Mine never went above 100degreeC on the oil temp gauge, even after 35 minute sessions at Donnington. ________________________________________ 1999 Astor Grey GTi-6 OEM+ (now gone...)2004 Aegean Blue 206 GTi 180 (also gone...) 2006 Skoda Fabia vRS in Sprint Yellow honestly3k wrote: Do you wrestle for a living matt? yeah, its not a bad box apparently, not to dissimilar to a xsara box, 6 speed is doable, but its not just bolt on.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

You can probably change the angle on the cable shifter on top of the box to make the throw less. Its what they do on the volvo cable shifters.________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Quite easy to fit, just use mix and match parts, I use 206 GTi internals on my 306 and the end casings and internals are all of the same design________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |
