Right, i want to crack on with my turbo build so i'm keen to get a low compresion bottom end put together.

aiming at a 'hybrid' solution
1.9 XUD 88 crank
RGX 152mm rods
GTi6 pistons

this would give me 8.1:1 compression, with refaced head and standard 1.2mm gasket. I know this isnt the most ideal

way to do it but in my mind its better than decompression plates. I will ultimately plan to run approx 1 bar with a

0.42/0.48 T3 turbo and 803 green injectors with management

What do you all think? Its common knowledge that 8v turbo/16v hybrid engines and decomp plates do work

so i think this would work

I'd want forged pistons really for a turbo application, cast pistons don't have the strength or heat resistance of their forged counterparts.

Daveyboy - yes your totally correct but i'm doing this on a budget and 'cheaper' alternatives to

lowering C/R have been proven to work. I was very very tempted to use a decompression plate but

although they do work there is some doubt in my mind. Hence the above selection of engine parts

that would lower C/R and just use a standard MLS head gasket
