Is there anyone on here who owns or has owned a pug with the 405 T16 engine?

I've got a few questions

first question is re the 2nd actuator which controls the 'variable area flap' inside the turbine, i read

somewhere that this can be permantly fixed open, is this true?

i'm maybe planning to get my VAT25 rebuilt to go onto my GTi6 engine (if i ever see it through lo)

I wont be chasing huge power figures so i think the VAT will be more than good enough for what i

need, plus i already have the T16 manifold and the proper turbo downpipe
