I'm putting a new inner tie rod on the s/rack at the weekend and was wondering where the strange shaped washer goes? I know it will be clear when I'm doing it, but was just wondering beforehand..... I'm assuming it's a lock washer of some sort??

Cheers,

Nick

Will become very obvious when you take the original one off! They go between the rod and the rack.

I had to re-use the originals as the design differed slightly.

Yes mate lock washer goes between the rod and the rack. Usually you have to flatten 2 edges over the rod once it's on tight can be pretty awkward to do on some cars.
