hi all, the mrs has got a c2 vts and its whistling like a kettle, i belive its an air leak and have check the inlet manifold bolts(the ones i can see/feel) but this has not solved the issue. thought maybe a blocked breather causing a vacume/whistle from the cam cover but i removed the filler cap with engine running and no change so i think that rules that out.help please..... ________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

Not much we can do from here!Get some brake or carb cleaner and give it a spray around the inlet where you think it might be leaking. any work been done to the car recently? ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Can you not find the leak using your trusty ears and a wet finger?Isn't there a colour'd gas you can get to help find leaks? I know they use colour'd gas to find leaks in air con units prior to re-gassing Something similar perhaps? ________________________________________ Proud Member of the ASTOR Owners Club |

Yeah tried that, might give it another go, na was fine and then not so fine. Thought maybe one of you guys might have come across it before, all the c2 forums just say.. "I took it to the dealer and got it fixed "I guess c2 drivers are not very hands on________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

If it had an air leak at the manifold surely the engine would be revving up due to receiving a quantity of unmetered air...if it's not doing this then it won't be a leak where the manifold meets the head. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

indeed stan this is what i was thinking to start with, maybe it would be reving up/stalling/hunting. its a bit lumpy but not too drastic.i'm going to take the whole thing off and reseal with a new gasket see where that gets me. i keep reading its a very common problem but no one seems to show what to do with it. once again thanks for the thoughts guys ________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

its either the alternator belt, inlet manifold gasket or the throttle body itself.Use some intelligence and narrow it down. Don't bother with a C2 forum. They'll just tell you to take the engine out and get some plonker to fit 2 v6's instead. ________________________________________ 205 GTIXsara HDI |
