right ive had a problem with my abs for a while now could never be botherd to fix the problem until now till i took the car off the road i was wondering if i clean the abs rings up on the shaft with a dremmel would that take the light off ? or is it easier to just replace ? ive cleaned the sensors they seem to be fine another thing is sometimes when i came out on a morning mainly when it was damp the abs light would be off until i tapped the brake the abs would kick in instantly then it would be back on any ideas would be much appreciated ________________________________________ 97 1.6 xs gti6 conversion scrapped99 black rallye ( low miles and immaculate ) sold new owner of a 2001 diablo red hdi mile muncher swapped 99 red rallye turbo sold then died 00 moonstone 1.9d (slow) |

The front sensor rings can get clogged up with crap. If you get something conductive stuck in there, it could be giving out a duff signal. Or, the front rings can break and if they are dislodged, that could give a duff reading. Alternatively, you have a bad sensor. Can be a pita to get out but new ones are only £20 or so. |

I would imagine you have a dodgy sensor to be honest. You need to get it hooked up to a diag though to determine which one so you don't waste money replacing good sensors. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Or if you cant do that, unplug each sensor, put a multimeter on the pins set on ACv and then spin the wheel and you should see a voltage appear every time a raised part of the ring passes the sensor. If not, or if there is a constant non-varying voltage, it needs replacing. |

Where are they from for £20? Ebay! Although your right, they do seem pricy. I bought one for my first 306 2 1/2 years ago now and i only paid £20 for it from Camberly auto factors! |
