Now i know the general population on here don't overly love phase 1's but I've got a soft spot for the dated look, Having owned a bianca white one a few years back i miss the looks over my phase 2.5 that I have now!

Are they that rare now that half decent ones have been tucked away in garages to appreciate in value Dunno

Been looking for a month or so on most websites trying to hunt down some nice examples with no joy

If someone offered me the right amount I'd part with mine... Or if a tidy 406 coupe V6 was offered as a swap. Razz

I always seem to have a soft spot for pre-facelift cars, for quite a lot of models I think the designers get them 'right first time'. I liek the P1 but not on Cyclones, they look too new. S16 trim for me. Smile

I think they look great. If I didn't have a Rallye it would be a P1 in Cherry red with black leather for me.

I don't think cyclones look too bad on phase 1's... Whistle

Although 205 1.9 wheels would look ok I think. Haven't seen many photos of a cherry red P1 on them but I'd like to as I reckon it would just look like a bigger 205.

Mine was a beaut, Pugpete really looked after it, then it went a bit sour from there and got a few bits i wouldn't approve of and finally turned into a stripped out track car, now i prefer this to a ditch but would've been so nice to see it returned to its former state. Anything for a whoring

Thanks. Smile Just spotted how huge that pic is, sorry. Photobucket either makes things too big or too small...

In all honesty, it is a good clean car, drives fantastically and has had a fairly recent rebuild on the engine, but it's still 15 years old and it's far from perfect.

Yeah they're not P1 items, apparently the GTi part is from a 106 but meh, looks fine to me so it can stay. Big grin

Blue carpet? :O I had thought about buying another carpet, bleaching it then dying it red like a 205's carpet and putting it in my '6. Not sure I can be bothered though. LOL

Wow really T99 PUG? I might've been stickered up then, it was just brilliant, sounded and went like a steam train and drove spot on when i sold it.

Nice healthy engine too!

To be honest a Ph1 with a sunroof is the last thing i'd have in Winter LOL

Leaks, misting up, possibility of damaging wheels, salt corrosion etc... buy a golf Thumbs up

Expects to be flamed LOL

I never had the balls to take it on a track, loved it too much and was afraid to ditch it. I was glad the guy who did track prep it did it properly though.....that WAS good to see!
