ive had a look in search bar for what im experiencing but cant find anything.

on Thursday my car wouldn't start first time like it usually does but after a couple of turns of the key it fires up but it idle properly n slowly builds up,when its warm its fine an starts up straight away but noticed it doesn't pull like it should when you get over 4,000rpm an seems like its holding back.
ive fitted a new i.c.v an that's helped a little but but still wont start first time in the morning when its cold,have also fitted new coil packs and fuel pump relay
can anyone help me out please?

Id be looking at the Lambda sensor fella. Do a search about it

ive not that long ago replaced my lambda as the emisions for the mot,i havent checked my air filter yet but would that give a problem as ive got standard setup with a k 'n' n replacement filter ?

If anything a performance air filter should improve engine response as it will improve air flow.

Whats the condition of the Cat like? Its not broken up and strangled the venting of the cylinder head has it?

Coil packs would be a thought as maybe its running on 3 cylinders but you say you have tried that!

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can give you some input

ive got a magnex decat,it runs fine when its running its just when you get to 4,000rpm then it just holds back.do the cam shaft sensor give alot of grief on theses engines?

Sounds like a possible MAP sensor going faulty. Yes

I've also changed the map sensor aswell,would the fly wheel sensor do anything to not let the engine run like it should?

Sounds odd, but sometimes the ecu's "calibration" of the icv can go out, at least in my experience that's happened before and the car wouldn't idle at all or even start up without the throttle being open. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so to reset the ecu, see if that clears it up temporarily while you work out what the underlying cause may be.

I gave it a reset like you said with unplugging the battery for 10mins whilst u fitted a new map sensor but still the same takes a few times of the key to start and holding back on power Sad

Sorry for not replying,na it's splutters for a second then runs fine ,I've fitted new coil packs and spark plugs ,was thinking would the fuel filter be a problem not getting fuel to the engine not letting it start like it should ?

Splutters for a second from cold sounds like a possible head gasket failure ? Moisture is getting into the cylinders and stoping combustion until it clears ?

I'd get a compression test done ASAP see if everything is ok ?

It's weird as it runs fine an pulls well up until you get to 4,000rpm which I can't get my head around,Kyle be my luck that the head gasket would be on its way out Sad

I had the poor starting issues from cold before I had the hg done on the sc6

Will get one done very soon though and see if it is the hg that's gone.what are they normal bared at on the gauge when testing just to now if its ok
