Hi i think ive got an injector problem with my gti 6, when i start it from cold either first thing in a morning or after its been stood a while it misfires for the first couple of miles of the journey, its not using water/oil dosnt smoke out of the back and after a few miles it clears and drives spot on from then on until left standing for a few hours, if the injector or coil is unplugged on cylinder 4 it doesnt alterer the running at all, i thought it was a coil playing up so fitted a new coil and was still the same, anybody any ideas??

I occasionally get the same problem, and I am pretty convinced my HG is going!

it will be, it's the water weeping in overnight and it struggling to get rid of it and then it'll clear. my old 8v XSi did it for aaaaages and i knew it was the HG but just left it and eventually it started using loads. so naturally i did what any 8v owner does and i smashed it to bits and 16v'd it Wink

my hdi actually misfires from cold for about 5-10 seconds every morning doing the same thing, but again no water usage or anything. might change the glowplug thingybob

Yep, certainly sounds like the early signs of HG failure. Sad

yeah, they don't leak that badly to begin with, next time you have it nice and cold, check the plugs before starting.
