hi, im just wondering if any harm can be done by fitting bigger more powerful batteries?
basically i have a brand new 740 amp big battery and my mate needs a battery for his m3, the battery in his m3 is a 650 amp one, would it damage anything if i fitted this one with an extra 90 amps?
thanks andy

wouldnt damage anything at all but you will probably find the alternator wont charge it fully and thn of course it might not fit because the 740 is probably physically bigger than the 650

It might not fit as above, but I've been running a huge battery in my hdi for years without issue.

Why not just fit the correct battery Dunno not sure but i think you will need a higher amp output alternator to keep it alive

I've Run a TD battery on my 205 for years with a standard 205 alternator without any issues, however space isn't such an issue as it doesn't have a box.

IIRC the BMW would have a fair amount of space as they tend to have sizeable batteries anyway, especially the high spec diesels.
