My car is having days where it is refusing to idle nicely, both whilst stationary and whilst coasting.

On a bad day it does this whilst stationary:Video(not my video but pretty much exactly what happened on the weekend)

Also the car is lovely and jerky when transitioning to idle, right to assume this is associated?

I gave the ICV a good clean, it was covered in lovely black greasy-ness. Seemed to have fixed it on Sunday but alas monday moring comes and its back again! Took ICV off quickly at work, still clean, yet still playing up!

I have ordered a new ICV but is there anything else that may be playing a part in this?

The other guys will tell you more but would a MAP sensor cause this to spike? sooooo many sensors around the throttle body housing!

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

MAP or lambda could cause this issue as well. Yes

Is the MAP sensor something that could be cleaned first before forking out for a new 1?

Stick it on Peugeot planet Wink
What does the lamda read exactly to get it to confuse the ecu?

Anything! it should osscillate between 0.1-1.0v IIRC, if it goes too low or high it can confuse the ecu even further.

Lambda faults sometimes show up on a diag, sometimes not. However, as said if you get it plugged into Planet you can view it live and see what readings you're getting. Smile

I've replaced my icv twice, Fooby (the guys who's video you used) just cleaned his and it sorted it.
I need a genuine brand new replacement icv and a couple other things. I'd also check the icv is seated properly

Yea I cleaned mine and it seemed to sort it, only for it to return. Ordered a pattern one as I didnt really want to pay £150 for a genuine one!

How can it not seat properly? not exactly any leeway when screwing/bolting it into place.

Sometimes a clean works, sometimes not. However, in most cases where a clean does work it is generally only a temporary thing and the unit soon needs replacing after to completely cure the problem. Yes

The o ring maybe loose and get snagged, on mine I had an oversized o ring which caught the side and let air past the seal

This is what I had read a few places (and am hoping it is).

Matt, I understand now, was thinking more of the ICV than the housing that bolts on/its screwed onto. Was looking at the o-ring as I was putting it back together as the light was dieing on sunday thinking I wonder if that could be an issue.

But hey hopefully find out later Smile

No Angry bloody part hasn't turned up, tomorrow maybe. On the plus side, car was perfect on the way home
Unsure

I get 45p per mile, but its 95% motorway miles and i get between 30/35mpg so it doesn't work out too bad.
