ive just finished rebuilding a beam for a customer and was wondering if anyone knows why the o/s pin is 47mm diameter

as opposed to the n/s being 50mm, seems strange why Peugeot would do this

how did you rebuild it without removing the ARB?

not weird to be welded, all 206's are like that.

dont get what you mean about the pins, they should both be the same diameter, as both sides use the same bearings, most likely to be severe wear if there is a difference and you have just f**ked up by putting it all back together.

i managed to get the n/s plate off (not an easy task btw), its seems a bit strange why they did it this

way, surely if arb has to come out from n/s then you'd have the removable plate there?

no ive not f**ked it up, the bearings are different for each side, luckily the pins weren't worn, got away with fitting new bearings

trust me though, one side is a larger diameter

no, you just pull the whole arb out with it after removing the o/s plate, same as you do on a 205 309 and 306.

only the n/s has the alignment mark so they go back on in the same place so you don't have any misalignment when re-assembling btw.

if the pins really are a different size left to right how do you explain identical part numbers left to right ??

i asked the exact same question when i ordered the parts from peugeot as there was a confusion

the o/s bearings share the same part number as the 1.6 cc model, yes it all seems very odd but

the pins have no wear in them so their not heavily worn

..i feel like stripping beam apart again to show you

The disk brake sport beams with thicker main tube do have different bearing sizes left to right
