The FAQ on sorting the dodgy airbag light only says it only covers the P2/3. Is that accurate or does it also apply to the P1? Mine's going in for an MOT next week and this is the only thing left to do.

Flashy air bag light is still not currently an MOT failure.

I raised a similar issue a few weeks ago, and my car passed with out even a mention of air bag light.

same applies to phase one other than no side airbags or passenger airbag.

Oh, I thought any warning light not found under normal driving conditions was an MOT failure?

And Thanks Mei, I'll get on it. MOT failure or not, it's annoying!

it was supposed to be from april this year but for some reason they never started enforcing it.
When i motd my car last week, i asked him and he reckons it will all come into force next april. Also, airbags that were there when it left the factory are a failure if missing so everyone with buckets and omp wheels are pretty screwed!

This is a ridiculous rule, there are so many people out there with road legal track cars...

Hopefully this will not come into force.

it is in force, they will be passed at the discretion of the tester.

I would hope it pushes people to do thing properly, see more race and rally cars being built and used.

But what with Rally car's none have ABS or airbags and all have these as std, there must be a competition car rule
