Interesting, I didn't think OBD2 readers worked on any phase of '6'. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

welshpug! wrote: Phase1 doesnt have the dl16 plug, just a 2 pin green jpt plug near the ecu Yes, I know that but even the later cars with the plug in the fusebox I thought were too early for OBD2 use. My car is one of the last, but I didn't think OBD2 was compatible with Pugs earlier than 2001. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

stan_306gti6 wrote: Interesting, I didn't think OBD2 readers worked on any phase of '6'. yup. For their age and for a "budget" car, they were actually very advanced for their time. They are not fully obd complaint as obd compliancy only became essential in the UK from 2001 by which time, there were no 6s being made. other european ones are though which means you can do alot more with them. basically, you can read, clear faults and get live data readouts which is all any of us need. I would however like a european set up where you can program door locking on drive away, follow me home lights, cruise control with the right kit and loads of other bits. Might look into it..... |

just taken a look & it's got the OBD2 Port just got to find my code reader in a bit & give it ago! My old Vauxhall astra mk4 on a 1998 plate had an OBD2 Port which you could read off the codes by bridging to pins with a paper clip & the bulb would blink to a set number B-)________________________________________ Phase 1 bianca white GTi-6:SOLDPhase 2 blaze yellow d-turbo:Off to scrap heaven Phase 2.5 platinum silver GTi-6:Just purchased :-D |

A lot of cars were OBD readable well before 01 but because they didnt have to be fully compliant, manufacturers didnt generally bother until their new models that came out in 2000/2001. If its got a obd port, The chances are very very good you can at least read codes and clear. Most older cars without (for example, pug has the 2 pin plug), there is normally a way to get the codes without the kit like bridging the pins, standing on one foot whilst your mate punches you in the bo***cks. |

Thanks mate, im not far from Epsom although the car is not on the road at present. Thinking of maybe seeing what happens with one of the bluetooh readers and then the Torque Pro app for my phone, could be interesting ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

With them bluetooth readers, its always hit and miss if they will work at all. Pug planet does everything it does for the dealers except ECU firmware upgrades because that connects the car and kit to their servers and then they realise its a cracked bit of software lol. |
