What's the function of the one way valve in the oil passage in a XU10J4RS head?

It's purpose is to allow oil to stay in the head after running, ready to give better and quicker protection for the cylinder head components on the next cold start. Yes

havent got a pic but iirc if you look at the head face, its a little ball bearing in one of the corners
