Has anyone done this?

I'm looking into doing away with the gear rods and changing to bowden cable operation. I know there are a few Peugeots & Citroens that have cable change, but am interested to know how easy a BE3 box would be to adapt?

The reason being, that I am looking at the possibility of changing to a sequential shift for next season, but the shifter will only work with a cable operated gearbox.

easy enough to get a shifter from something like a 307 C4, picasso etc, swap the bits on the gearbox pop a hole in the bulkhead for the cables and make something to bolt the lever down to.

So, do all the cable change cars have the same setup on the gearbox?

no, as many are ML gearboxes which would not be compatible, neither would the matching cables, they need to be from one vehicle afaik.

sounds like Jonnie can sort you out anyway.
