I'm looking for the 2 brackets that attach the power steering cooling hose to the cross-member under the radiator.

Mine are bent, seized and look as though they came off the Titanic and I can't get them undone despite many hours with release fluid etc. Due to bending I can't even get the torx bit into one of the bolts so probably have to cut/drill.

I'll need some to install the nice new pipe I've got. Anyone got some in reasonable not-too-rusty condition?

Ta.

Yeah, would have been but one is NLA - can't remember which one. Have ordered available one but will need other one as not optimistic about salvaging one of mine. Might see whether I could just have 2 the same to avoid NLA problem.

Still after these if anyone has decent ones.

The plastic parts (missing from my car) and the 'top clamp' (if you know what I mean) pieces are available and ordered, but the bits that these attach to, which in turn bolt to the chassis cross member are NLA.

F**k knows how I'm going to get these off. Hacksaw + drill + heat I think. All I need to salvage is the bits that screw to the cross member.

Unless anyone has any?

Drill out the Torx screws starting with a tiny drill bit and gradually work your way up in size, do it carefully and you should get them out without damaging the threaded part in the crossmember, that's how I got mine off.

After a lot of release fluid, blowtorch heat and swearing, I've managed to reclaim and straighten my bent rusty brackets, so the request in this thread is no longer required.

I.e just attach inlet to outlet in the shortest way possible

So you think the pipe is like that for no reason ? Or maybe it's like that to aid cooling the fluid ? Dunno

Yup it certainly does - any fluid under presure will heat up I think ? That's why water is no good as it boils and produces a gas which is bad

Well yes technically it doesn't do a lot other than allow fluid through it but I pretty sure it aids cooling due to its location ?

I'm sure pug put it there for a reason other than to go rusty LOL
