This is often a good test of whether there's something wrong at idle with these cars. The way to do it is hold the revs around 6.5k for about 1 minute, when the car's in neutral. If the first go doesn't clear it up, keep repeating the process.

Just so nobody comes hunting for me with a pickaxe: post number 4 was obviously not serious. Shock

Mental note: you never know how much some people may (not) know about cars. LOL

Na they either do or don't and you will soon know if their don't

I'd start with basics ? When was it last serviced ? Give her a good service and change the coolant I'd change the thermostat as well ? Bare in mind some days they are quick and some days they're not it's a pug thing Yes

Other things to consider are coolant temp sensor, lambda, power steering sensor ?

I'd also check your earth points as they can corrode ?

Also check the cat and exhaust if they are failing they could be affecting the breathing of the engine Thumbs up

LOL @ Swiftyboi006...

Given the fact you say the idle is dodgy and also sometimes the car holds back during acceleration I would hazard a guess that the lambda is giving up the ghost.

Try unplugging it and then going for a short drive and see if there's any difference. If it's much better then replace the lambda. Thumbs up
