what holds these in place, should the rubber under them be wide enough to grab the sides wedging it in somehow?

i removed them to polish the car a few weeks back and discovered them in my garage earlier, so off i went to fit them except now they are loose, they literally just sit on the gutter, and 1 even bows upwards ever so slightly, has the rubber shrunk while its been garaged or somthing, they was much tighter before, just wondering if theres somthing i dont know before i bloody glue them down
thanks andy

You can bend them back to shape and they normally fit well after. They have a slight bend to them to follow the roof line but when you remove them from one end, you normally end up bending them straight.
