When I replaced mine I had no washer... Also once tight I had slight movement from side to side. That normal?

Hmmm what would cause this movement? The lack of washer?

probably smashed captive nut under the cradle, assuming the mount is alright. they are tough rubber though. i have seen a few with a big washer under them, my old xsi had one but i chucked it after getting the mount welded up properly and didn't have another problem

Mine was tight, but still had movement in it.

Removed mount and found the base like this:

So could be as above pic,or your your captive nut is loose in the chassisSmile

the buffers wear, this causes more stress on the mounting point which is only m12 into low quality steel. Eventually the metal fatigues and the mount or captive nut will break

The washer has been put there for a reason though. Yes

It could be to lift the mount up slightly so it aligns the engine position perfectly, however Peugeot would not have fitted it if there wasn't a need for it to be there...

There is a chance it could just be a minor correction from the factory that some cars needed and others didn't. Say a batch of the chassis panels came out slightly out of shape, or the producers of the OEM mounts had a bat batch that were 5mm too short. Slap a penny washer in there, and Robert is shaggin yer father's sister.

It's possible, but as far as I know the washer is listed on Servicebox for all phases. Yes

probably to spread the load over a bigger area or to ensure the mounts sits flat and won't rattle loose. Wink

Good call Aaron, that makes sense if it was done for that reason. Yes
