I've known a few people do it, problem is there's always someone with more money and mechanical skill than you, so normal people like myself would never stand a chance.

Ha ha - thats my mate Fatty, aka Steve Fitzpatrick whos winning the Club n/a section at the mo. (if you look at the Anglesey rounds report he's on the podium in the red onesie)

Steve's got a E46 M3 SMG, stripped out, trick suspension and CSL exhausts, and he's doing really well. Drives his car there, kicks its head in, then drives it home.

I've done trackdays with him for years, and 3 years ago he had a go at Time Attack in a Audi RS4 (v6 twin turbo jobby) but because he was in the big power/bigger budget group, he never stood a chance against the 800hp evo's etc etc.

He loves it tbh, we're all going to see him when its at Donnington for support

is there an up to 2.0 N/A fwd class? that's the only way you'd have a chance on most tracks!

Quite. Although they have this "it's not a race" thing, most of the Evos and such that run in their classes can cost £100k or thereabouts, don't underestimate how much it would cost to compete in TA.

On a 6 week placement I had to do for my HND I did a little work on the RSE Lancer Evo IX which ran in the UK time attack series in '08/'09. This was in 2010 when it was being completely overhauled. Haven't seen or heard anything from it since and there doesn't seem to be any trace of RSE any more. If you think it looks a bit of a mess... you'd be right! LOL

Yes mate, so in theory have no chance against your lot Laugh

And as Pinkfloyd said, sprints are much cheaper and that is my most likely option.. Just dreaming that I could do Time Attack but for me will be a few years before I can properly think about it Sad

If you guys can read a textbook, weld and wire up an old basic engine, have a look at the 750mc formula 750 class. Those things like like ridiculous fun!
