The continental kits are good quality, at least as good as OEM I'd say. Also, can people stop s**tting their pants every time someone mentions a timing belt reaching 20k please? Yes Peugeot pushed it a bit when they said 72k from new. Rather than actually conduct a load of expensive tests I'll guarantee you some engineer in an office somewhere in France said "f**k it, just tell everyone to halve it. There we go, job done! I'm off to get some cheese and wine for lunch, plough my wife and I'll be back this afternoon." I don't see why 50k isn't achievable easily and safely, unless you over/under tension the belt when you first put it on. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Yeah, I'm not suggesting reusing belts. But there's no way a belt can fail in 20k unless incorrectly fitted. Hell, I ran my first 6 for 15k before I checked when it was last done and that pushed it up to 50k________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

I've seen timing belts fail in 8 minutes on a test bed. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

Don't forget it's not only mileage which should affect the timing of a change. Age is another factor. Three years is nearly up for me and I'll be changing it, despite the fact the car won't have run for 18 months of that by the time I set about changing it. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
