I've never done it but I think you use a hair dryer or heat gun (gently and carefully) to melt the glue/sealent used to fasten them. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

![]() I won't give away everything but I'll say a heat gun flat metal bar and a s**t load of practice I've destroyed many a light in the past,.. id suggest getting hold of a few sets of frosted lights and practice on those 1st! I have done lots of sets now,.. and nearly every set makes me want to swear! Thug just offered me some lights but i have a few sets to get rid of my self when I can find the time to black mask them! give him a shout I'm sure he'll sell you some at a good price! ![]() don't be tempted to leaver at the lens too much they are brittle and an excessive amount for will cause it to crack or snap! but as a 1st timer I'd buy Depo's ![]() but if you are aderment in seeing it through with Valeo's I wish you the best of luck! you'll need it ![]() and if you do destroy the black casing and not the Lense you can re-case them into Ph2's near perfect fit! ![]() ________________________________________ Proud Member of the ASTOR Owners Club |

see if you can get them apart 1st before running out to buy undercoat and paint,...I found Hycote stuff to be great! no spatters etc if you keep the nozzle clean but yeah Satin Black ![]() not available in hafraudes Wilco Motor save ![]() also it helps if you heat up you're tabs that hold the lens in place and just bend them out of the way! ________________________________________ Proud Member of the ASTOR Owners Club |

I put one in an oven not realising it was touching the side and it ended badly lol. I used that one in the end to work out how to get it apart and managed to do the other side not too bad.I found heating it up all the way around then attack it with something thin and flat (I used a knife) working from the corner nearest the grill and worked my way up the top and across the bottom. Mine didn't seem that brittle as once I'd got that corner and edge off enough to grip it I basically pulled it off with quite a bit of force whilst heating the area still stuck. It isn't easy but with patience and the right approach you'll get them apart. I still had 2 very small bits I'd bent with the knife that when back together I heated back up and pushed back down and on the car they looked spot on. Good luck if you have another go at it. ________________________________________ Ryan |
