hi all,
the speedo needle on my 6 occasionally dies and sits at 0 while driving along, my XSi also did this, both phase 3's, anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?
cheers!

it's the VSS (speed sensor), situated in the housing at the side of the gearbox. i fitted one the other month, about £10 for the part from any motor factors. took about 20 minutes to fit and top the box oil up

hi, see the photos in the thread. it's still here but if it isn't sold soon ill be making office chairs out of them. I think you can swap the seat bases over anyway so a passenger one (on mine it's good nick) should work

before you try the speed sensor on the Gearbox housing just open the fuse box under the steering wheel there's a metal fuse take it out give it a wipe and put it back,.. static or some s**t can cause it not to work properly and speedo dies,.. then jumps back to life i've had it a few times in the past! Smile
