Am i right in saying b6 & b8 s are the same EXCEPT b8 s are shorter, ideal for lowered springs?
and b8 s are near oem

Basically its like this.
B4 are oem
B6 are uprated
B8s are the same as b6 but shortened for cars that are -25mm or more afaik

Spot on. Billy website says as much, Miles confirmed this for me earlier in the week.
