But more worryingly I saw this
This pipe was also covered in oil/grime. Could this potentially have caused any damage?

Firstly the plastic air intake wasn't properly attached to the filter tube, somehow it has broken at the end.But more worryingly I saw this This pipe was also covered in oil/grime. Could this potentially have caused any damage? |

No, it is a common failure for the ICV supply pipe to break here. When this happens most people bung the hole up in the main pipe, and put a breather filter on the end of the ICV supply pipe. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Your plastic intake pipe isnt broken at the end - its made like that so it fits around the pipe thats below it on the filter housing________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

Get a heat gun and warm the end up so it melts, then push it onto the large bore pipe and it will melt back together.Job done.
