Listed as "suspens Washer". I have the feeling that it is the threaded part in the chassis.

No, it's just a large washer that sits between the engine mount and the chassis cradle.________________________________________ Rich |

It should be there Craig, after all Pug wouldn't have gone to the trouble of fitting one there if there wasn't a reason for it. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

smegal wrote: Cheers Stan and Rich. No problem, I believe its actual purpose is to evenly distribute engine load over the cradle to try to put less stress on the threaded part of the mount/cradle. Doesn't seem to stop a lot of them cracking though. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I'm pretty sure in Daveyboy's thread on his repairs to this area he recommends leaving the washer out As the base of the mount is a bigger surface area than the washer,so the mount straight onto the metal spreads the load over a bigger area than having the washer fitted ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

Fair dos I suppose if that is indeed the case. Seems odd though as Pug went to the trouble of fitting it there? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

He leaves it out to compensate for the height difference. Id imagine its there to allow the mount to be turned without picking up on the cradle. It also gives a flat surface to seat on thus redusing the likelyhood of it coming loose. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
