Hi folks, ive noticed my fuel pressure regulator making a hissing noise when I put the ignition on. Is this normal for my or any other setup? It's so long since mine has run I can't remember if this happens to it or not. From memory, I haven't noticed anything untoward although like I say, I haven't used it for a while. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It can online heard when the ignition is turned on and the fuel pump primes up, it wouldn't be gear able with the engine running due to exhaust. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

I can't hear anything at all really when the engine is running, but I haven't noticed this hissing with the ignition switched on either. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Might be that Buzz's pump is on permanently with ignition feed rather than simply primes when turned to pos2.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Possible, mine only works on Pos 2, although things like the AFR gauge work on Pos 1. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It's not the priming noise that I was wOndering about, it was the hissing/air sound from the regulator that I'd never noticed before________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

buzzbrightyear wrote: the spring surclip type thing? It's either on or off isn't it that thing? It's probably normal and just something I just noticed Yeah, that's the thing I mean... Generally, it is an "on/off" thing, if you leave it off and prime the car, it generally fires out the fuel rail at high speed. I have never noticed this "hissing of air" before with mine, although maybe it is there and I've just not registered it. Can you hear it when you're in the car with the bonnet shut, or is it only apparant when you're under the bonnet and the ignition is turned to pos 2? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It's heard inside the car with the bonnet closed when you turn the ignition to no2, it lasts a few seconds and then stops. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

That's weird as surely it must be difficult to tell if it's blowing from a place where the gases are supposed to be exiting? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
