10w40 is the grade you need for these. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I use 10-50 pro S type, its thicker and works far better at higher temperatures and clings to metal better and is used in race/fast road and turbo engines, it makes a small difference to the efficiency, ability of the engine turning round through it. Used it the past 4 years so far with a heavy foot.http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68898-fuchs-titan-race-pro-s-10w-50-ester-synthetic-engine-oil.aspx The particular ratings i use are for engines and temps that are warmer, so go careful till engine gets warm, the 6 engine tends to be quite warm especially in traffic. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-681-car-engine-oils.aspx These are the best reads > http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/Engine-Oil-Viscosity.pdf http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/Oil-Functions.pdf Halfway down this one explains about it a bit more http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/Lubricating-a-Modified-Car.pdf This explains how synthetic is better with ester inside http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/The-Advantages-of-Synthetic-Oils.pdf Although you would be better with a 40 SAE version, the 50 is for prolonged periods of high temps in modified engines. Any good quality oil which is within the specs listed in the handbook is OK for road use - far more important to check the level regularly and keep up to full mark, and use genuine or top quality oil filters. Semi-synth was originally specced for these cars, but I, like other enthusiast owners, prefer a bit of overkill and I use full synthetic stuff I got from a Pug dealer. It is 5w30 though which is probably a bit thin for a 100,000 mile engine. For the next change I'll get a fully-synth 10w40 from Opie oils. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

Pug sell fully synthetic 10w40, maybe worth giving them a go... ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
