For bodywork and other things too big to put in a Deox C bath, the Deox gel is good stuff, but for best results it is best to remove as much as possible mechanically first. Especially the scale type rust that is difficult to remove - even a drill wire brush just polishes it. Best to chisel it off (it is brittle and chips off leaving rusty metal underneath), then wire brush metal back to mostly clean. Put deox gel on, cover it with cling film as others have said, then leave it for 2 days, wash off, scrub off, then repeat.

I bought a Dremel to get to hard-to-access bits too small to get a drill into, like corners, close to fuel/brake pipes etc. The Dremel stainless brushes do a great job but they wear down quite quickly.
