Right, could I please ask for some advice. My car idles odd, it bounces on the idle from 500/750rpm to around 1200rpm and then cuts out sometimes. Doesn't seem to do it when cold but as it warms up it starts to do it. Any ideas what this could be? Cheers in advance, Tom |

Or replace the ICV. When I cleaned mine it lasted for a month or so until it started messing around again. Get a new one from GSF or your local motor factors. The genuine items are bosch so anywhere that stocks bosch should be able to get one for around £60-£70. |

The genuine items are Magneti Marelli. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Could be a number of things, I wouldn't replace anything before checking out the testing sensors FAQ and cracking out your multimeter.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

This is the reason I suggested cleaning the ICV first. If it works for a short while then happens again you know to go and buy a new one. If you just buy a new one and it turns out not to be that, it's a waste of money.________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

@ Woody! You may be able to find a factors that can supply Magneti Marelli items instead of being ripped off at Pug... Best thing to do is try a clean before purchasing anything though. There is an FAQ on here which shows you how to do it. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Ok thanks guys. Will definately have a try of that. I heard I need to reset the ECU. I take it I just leave the battery disconnected for half hour or so? |

I've tried cleaning my ICV now as well as swapping it for a "known worker" an still no luck. I have been told it could be TPS, so I change that but with no luck. Also water temp sensor, and all the vacuum hoses are fine. Any more ideas? Maybe Lambda sensor? It does seem to be running rich. But I don't know if this would affect the idle? Maybe somethinf else on the throttle body? I really am stumped with this now and it's really starting to p**s me off so any more help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys |

Try testing the MAP sensor mate. I think everyone has had idle problems in the past, a gti6 trait! Have a look here:http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=80340 |

Here's what you need to try:Disconnect the lambda sensor and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then buy a new lambda, as you say it's probably on it's way out if the car is drinking more fuel than normal. If it doesn't work then try this: There is a power steering sensor at the front of the engine just below the inlet manifold. It is blue in colour and is situated in the middle of the high pressure steering pipe. Unplug this sensor and see what results you get. If this works, you will need a new one of these sensors. This sensor's function is to determine how much load there is on the steering when the vehicle is idling, and to up the idle if need be. They have been know to fail regularly. Hope this helps, Stan. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
