Hi all,

My dad has managed to put £20 quid (about 13 litres) of sainsburys super unleaded in my brothers berlingo van 1.9d (think its a dw8). Will he be ok just to brim it full of diesel and dilute it?

Probably not, No

Don't drive the van, syphon as much out as possible and then brim with Diesel.

Or get AA man, or RAC out to pull your trousers down.

Costly either way

If you want to be thorough, take the pump out and syphon it.

Depending how much room is left for diesel, say half a tank i'd be inclined to brim it with derv and drive on til i've used a quarter tank and brim it again and repeat.

as its a mechanical one not commonrail, just fill it right up.

there's no pump in the tank, and IIRC its a 70 litre tank.

quite common for petrol to be added to old diesels in cold weather.

It will run a bit lumpy and be a bugger to start but once burnt off will be ok.

Brim it up, burn off a quarter and then brim again. It will be fine. Yes
